Half Moon Bay

Beauty
This beautiful garden faces a pasture where horses graze, tractors rumble by, and the beach is a hop-skip-and-a-jump away. The owner wanted her lawn transformed into a gentle wildness with blooms and movement throughout. The view to the horses beyond was maintained and a gravel path leads you through the garden. Starting at the patio, you wind past native grasses and iris to feeding troughs (a nod to the pastures beyond) transformed into raised beds with perennial artichokes, to the first apple tree, and around up to the fence line where a second apple tree stands. The ocean breezes catch the blooms of the Russian Sage and tough salvias and yarrow add color throughout the space.
